Even though none of us had ever actually seen a naked woman, a fact we constantly lied about, Squints had taken one step closer to manhood:He had kissed a woman, he had kissed her long and good. -The Sandlot (1993)

Well I finally gave in and am now on myspace. So that means I am on myspace, facebook and have a blog. Well it is a weekly thing now, a group of us guys get together and play football every Saturday morning at 10am. Well I went out to lunch with a friend who I had not spent any time with in a few months and had a good time. She has recently convinced her parents to take in a Hispanic girl she worked with who speaks very little English and is to stay in her room while she is off to school. It will be an interesting semester for her family.

Lastly it has been awhile since I have vented about anything on my blog and I guess it is once again time. This blurb is about our College Bible Study. I think that the material is good and the worship is by far one of my favorite parts, but I really think that the format and presentation of it in general sucks. Each week it is on Monday and lasts typically for approximately 3hours give or take 30minutes. This is ridiculous and something in my opinion needs to change. I think we can not only change the process but build the program with some simple steps. I think that a major overhaul is necessary and here is what I suggest. First, change the Monday time to a period from 7:30pm to 9pm prayer and praise. The night will start with 45minutes of worship each week followed by no more then a 20minute summary of last weeks lesson or intro to this weeks teaching. The remaining 30 minutes is for announcements and then a social period. The next stage in my restructure consists of individual Bible studies during the week led by anyone that chooses…Mike, Mr. Sardone, or I would even lead one if needed (girls have their own). These studies would happen on other nights when people have open time so people that work can go when they need to. For example the guys could have a study on Tuesday at 8am, Thursday at 7pm, and Saturday at 8am. These time are just guesses but guys could go whenever they want and each study could be held at any location or different peoples houses. After a week or two the groups would somewhat lock down and more personal relationships would be founded. This time would be set for about a 45minute study and then prayer requests and time for prayer…thus these are already small groups. I have participate in many Bible studies done in this format and know how much more beneficial it has been to my spiritual walk. Finally after talking with some others within the group the feedback has been very receptive to such a change.

"A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dreams that you wish will come true."~Cinderella (1950)

It has been a long time since I have posted anything of substance and I don't want to say that the "of substance" part will change. To update since my last posting I have been to two weddings, of which both are members of the Davis family. The weddings were both great. This semester, can I say semester being that I am no longer in school, had some rejection in the romance department. But this rejection was more of the Dumb and Dumber kind….So your saying there's a chance. This rejection was by a friend of mine on the Texas Tech Soccer team, so she may have been a bit out of my range. My sights have since moved on to other avenues.

I had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Years. It was very eventful and I can say without any question that I miss the bread you get from school during the break. It just seems that there is not enough time to get everything done.

Lastly, although I have always been a Cowboys fan the impact was not that bad knowing that my friend Dylan Gandy on the Colts is not only playing in the NFL but has a great shot at winning a Superbowl.

Linus: If you have some problem in your life, do you believe you should try to solve it right away or think about it for awhile?
CB: Oh, think about it, by all means! I believe you should think about it for awhile.
Linus: To give yourself time to do the right thing about the problem?
CB: No, to give it time to go away!

Update to my blog will be coming shortly. This blog will contain notes on my strugles, relationships, and month to date travels...

CharlieBrown: What can you do when you don't fit in? What can you do when life seems to be passing you by?
Lucy: Follow me. I want to show you something. (They get to the top of a hill.) See the horizon over there? See how big this world is? See how much room there is for everybody? Have you ever seen any other worlds?
CharlieBrown: No.
Lucy: As far as you know, this is the only world there is, right?
CharlieBrown: Right.
Lucy: There are no other worlds for you to live in, right?
CharlieBrown: Right.
Lucy: You were born to live in this world, right?
CharlieBrown: Right. Lucy: WELL LIVE IN IT THEN! Five cents please.

Sometimes friends help you look at things differently. This week I was talking to a good friend of mine and she helped me to realize that perhaps the struggles I deal with are placed in front of me with God knowing that I have the strengthen in Him to overcome them. The song running through my head this week is Amy's Song by Switchfoot which goes out to Kim Cypert out starting a fire in this barcode plastic world..
Amy's gone And time rolls on
How far? how fast? how long?
The last time we saw Amy
She was headed for the shore
Fighting off the volatile gray skies
She said now begins forever
And that no one knows their time
We bid farewell not knowing
That might be our last goodbye
Amy was a fighter
She cut like Casius Clay
She burned like a fire
Despite these rains
Where time was a question
She only knew one song
She's singing, "how far, how fast, how long?"
Salvation is a fire
In the midnight of the soul
It lights up like a can of gasoline
Yeah, she's a freedom fighter
She's a stand up kind of girl
She's out to start a fire
In a bar code plastic world
When everything stops moving
And I stop to catch my breath
And ride my train of thought
All the way round
My thoughts return to Amy
And the fire she's begun
She came when we were freezing
And left us burning up

Dear Great Pumpkin, I am looking forward to your arrival on Halloween night. I hope you will bring me lots of presents. Everyone tells me you are a fake, but I believe in you. Sincerely, Linus van Pelt. PS - if you really are a fake, don't tell me. I don't want to know. -Linus (of Charlie Brown)

Some time has passed since my last blog but that does not mean my life has slowed down by any means. I am currently working with Mentor 4 as a recruiter. It seems like a good fit so far, and my day consists of searching out people to put into particular jobs and then interviewing them for those positions.

For the last couple of months Craig Manning and I have started going to this pub every other or every third Wednesday to play poker in this free tournament. On average there are approximately fifty people that play each time. Two weeks ago, I won, taking first in the tournament. I was on an adrenaline high for hours.

For the last month or so I started looking at new vehicles…trying to determine what I want and more importantly what I can fit in. Well after some trial and error I found that one vehicle fit my need and thus begun my search. Last week I stumbled across an oddly priced vehicle on the internet and called a friend from Crossroads who worked at the dealership. Well we talked and long story short on Thursday I purchased a preowned 2005 Dodge Ram. It is virtually new with only 4,000 miles on it. I am pumped about it, however Friday I went out of town and thus my father took it upon himself to test it out over the weekend.

I left town for the weekend to go to Pine Cove with the middle school students from our church. We took a total of approximately 150 kids. Needless to say they wore me out after just a few days. This weekend was a blast and I can only hope that I helped to make an impact. The weekend also helped me gain perspective on what the staff, like my sister “Liberty Belle” and her boyfriend “Goliath” go through on a week to week basis each summer.

"If I stand here, I can see the Little Red Haired girl when she comes out of her house... Of course, if she sees me peeking around this tree, she'll think I'm the dumbest person in the world... But if I don't peek around the tree, I'll never see her... Which means I probably AM the dumbest person in the world... which explains why I'm standing in a batch of poison oak." ~Charlie Brown

My life is busy with many different things from work to working with the middle school at my church. I do enjoy the pace of my life, always going here or there. Again however, I do find myself in somewhat of a rut.!. I am getting older and many of my friends are either married or well on their way in that direction. It so often seems that although I have moved on from college and into a career I am slowly moving onto the on-ramp of a major highway while everyone around me goes flying bye at a million miles an hour. I keep wondering when will it be my time to merge on into the traffic and start upon the journey. Although I do not know what that trip will hold, I need to work on finding a co-pilot.

What's this? That little red haired girl dropped her pencil. Gee, it's got teeth marks all over it. She nibbles on her pencil. [A beatific smile crosses his face.] She's human!~Charlie Brown

We'd have more luck playing pick-up sticks with our butt-cheeks than we will getting a flight out of here before daybreak~Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)

For the first time in my life I made a conscious decision to wear PINK. I was given as a gift last week for my birthday a really cool pink tie. I never thought there would be a day where I wear pink, but it was not as hard as previously thought. Now, this does not mean I am pulling out the stops and going with all feared pink shirt. Well this week work went great, I got on the phones calling people about resumes and interviewed them. The process is fairly fun. I do think I am going to enjoy this position. Now I have a new dilemma, a automobile dilemma. My blazer has 165,000 miles on it and has a terminal cancer. In other words I think it will die in the next few months. Now I must decide how far I want to go into debt, more so then what kind of transportation I want. Car...Truck...SUV...the hunt begins. Finally with college football underway all I can say is "Get Your Guns Up!!"
